BCU promotes ‘Safety First’ to Engineering students

Occupation, Safety and Health (OSH) Orientation and Safety Awareness Seminar was conducted for the students of different Universities held at the BCU Function hall on October 21, headed by the guest speaker, Professor Elson InolpeSoneja, MMPA, SENIOR I.T. of the TUV Rheiland Incorporation.
“You must pass through every step of the ladder. If you skip one, then the more that you will fall,” said Prof. Soneja for the opening thought to the students who have gathered for the orientation.
In the promotion of “Safety First”, Prof. Soneja inculcated to the students the importance of safety awareness and protection, the house rules and leveling of expectation in the field. He also gave emphasis on the OSH topics and the Importance and Legislation.
Roles of safety officers and OSH officers’ duties were instilled to the students wherein Osh officer acts as the employer’s principal assistant and consultant and its duty to conduct accident investigation, coordinate all health and safety training programs for employees and employers, conducts health and safety trainings and seminar. And lastly, it is on how to be a good leader which practices effectiveness, efficiency and excellence.
