CNSM conducts Seminar on Leadership and Spirituality

October 27-the Baguio Central University College of Nursing and School of Midwifery (CNSM) held a seminar about leadership and spirituality at the BCU Audio-Visual Room, Burgos Campus.

The guest speaker of the seminar was Pastor Hilario A. Sanglay, former instructor of the University and now a missionary assigned in Aruba, Caribbean Island. The hosts of the seminar took the opportunity while Pastor Sanglay was on his vacation and invited him to speak and share his insights and experiences.

He discussed about transformational leadership and spirituality. Sanglay shared what Bill Gates said, “Leaders will be those who empower others”. Also, what Charles Handy said about a leader, “a leader shapes and shares a vision which gives point to the work of others.” He further stressed that, “leadership is a combination of strategy and character and that if you must be without one, be without the strategy.” He also discussed the types of leadership and then included spiritual aspect of which a leader must possess.

He ended his talk by saying, “To be a leader, you must first be a good follower.”

The seminar was initiated by the nursing and midwifery students and instructors of the College.
