The Baguio Central University College of Engineering grabbed 5th place in the 1st invitational annual Inter-School Bridge Building Competition held at the University of Baguio Centennial Building last October 5, 2019.
The BCU-COE contestants were composed of 9 teams and each team were represented by 6 members, Engr. Roel Villanueva an engineering instructor of the university served as their adviser.
In the competition, each team was required to construct a miniature bridge to meet a certain criteria. The bridge should be made only from the materials provided by the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers.
In this year’s competition, the contestants used yarns and uncooked spaghetti pasta as their materials. The contestants must have to follow a criteria; like a certain dimension so that the test box can pass through.
Finally, the University of the Cordilleras was declared champions followed by the University of Baguio, 2nd place, and the Baguio Central University captured the 5th place.
The judges were the PICE Presidents from the different Universities of Baguio City.
